Bars/Restaurants
Supper Club
a wonderful experience; 5 course fixed gourmet dinner (veggie too!) in a setting that's a cross between a club (disco), art installation, restaurant, and theater. Highly recommended if you ever have the opportunity.
a wonderful little neighborhood pub with an amazing selection of Belgian beers, complete with a section just for Trappist brews.
eating lunch (fresh bread, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, fresh pesto…) at a cafe alongside one of the labyrinth like canals, sipping a beer watching the world go by.
NEMO museum
yes, just like the (two) tour books I have says, it's a kid's museum…
canal cruising
The favorite pastime of the city appears to be cruising around the many canals at a low rate of speed while drinking. During certain times of year, the other favorite pastime of the male city dwellers is to pee on said boats from the many bridges *over* the canals. The commercial tour boats in the city operate 364 days a year; the single day a year they don't run, Queens Day, is the one infamous for boat peeings on.
