Mushrooms in Red Wine

  • 1 lb mushrooms - sliced
  • 1/4 cup red wine
  • 1/4 cup vegetable or chicken stock
  • 2 dashes of soy sauce
  • 1/2 Tbsp butter
  • salt and pepper


  1. Combine the mushrooms, wine, stock, and soy sauce in large skillet. Add butter in pieces. Salt lightly.
  2. Simmer, stirring frequently, for 10 min, or until the mushrooms are tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed. Season to taste
  3. Can be served with mashed or baked potatoes. Can be stored in refrigerator and reheated when needed.


Serves: 4-6      Total cook time: 10 min.
