Grilled Salmon Marinade

  • 2 lb salmon
  • 1/2 tsp lemon pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1/3 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil

  1. Sprinkle the fish with lemon pepper, garlic, and salt.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, water, and oil. Place fish in 1 gal sealable freezer bag; pour soy sauce mixture over fish. Close bag and marinate at least 2 hours turning several times to ensure covering all sides.
  3. Clean grill top. Preheat grill. Just prior to cooking fish wipe top of grill with paper towel or lemon soaked with vegetable oil. Minimize oil dripping into fire to prevent fire ups.
  4. For 1“ thick filet place fish skin side down on the grill and cook for 5 min. Flip over and cook for an additional 5 min. Baste with extra marinade during cooking. Basic cooking rate is 10 min. total cook time per inch of thickness. For thinner fillets reduce timing on skin side so flesh side is cooked for 5 min. to provide good grilled look.

Serves: 6 Total Cook time: 10 min.
