Grilled Corn with Soy Butter

  • 3 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 scallion white & green parts - finely chopped (alternative: finely chopped white or red onion)
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 4-5 large ears of corn - husk pulled back & tied


  1. Melt butter in saucepan. Add the onion and cook until it loses its rawness, about 1 min. Do not allow to brown.
  2. Set up the grill for direct grilling and preheat.
  3. Brush soy butter on ears and place on the grill and cook, turning frequently until the kernels are browned on all sides. Periodically lightly baste with soy butter to avoid flare ups.
  4. When done remove to platter and coat with remaining soy butter.


Serves: 4-5        Total cooking time: 15-20 min (10-15 min grill)
